BUDAPEST IS HISTORIC Tour
Have you ever thought about buying this beautiful building? Do you know who wanted to buy the Hungarian Parliament?
Because someone has seen it and wanted to buy it, none other than...Freddie Mercury!
In the mid 80's Queen was here in Hungary for a special concert. This was a huge thing back in the day since we were a part of the socialist block, not a lot of "westerners" could come with their music and art from abroad. Freddie's famous line was heard while the band was on a river cruise on the danube, he said: "Who has such a nice house? If it has enough bathrooms I would definitely buy it!"

Jokes aside the Parliament is truly one of the most astonishing buildings in Budapest. In 2011 it became a UNESCO world heritage sight with the Danube panorama as a whole. Visiting the area during the day or during night time is a completely different experience. No wonder why one of the best options for inspecting this building from afar is a nice and relaxing boat cruise. Another great option is on foot, from the surrounding squares which were finished with the Parliament in 1902, nowadays these squares are renovated and modernised compared to the 96 meters tall original building. If time is not an issue going inside is highly recommended since it is as marvelous on the inside as on the outside. It also house national treasures such as the holy crown an coronational items. In short, it's a must!
