WHAT DOES A WHALE AND BUDAPEST HAVE IN COMMON?
The place called Bálna (literally translating to whale) is a building a new en exciting location right next to the riverbank. :)
The general area it self is buzzing all year round, since one of the most famous university in Budapest has a campus here. Apart from the market halls there are a lot of new and interesting shops around the main square. Now for the "whale" itself, a new and interesting art design colliding with and old building and a historical panorama. The building offers a wide range of stores, an art gallery, their own market area and random events held inside.
Even with all these there is one to top it all off; the bars on the brink of the river bank looking towards the Citadella and the beautiful "freedom bridge". One of my favourite bars here (rather a bistro) is called Esetleg Bar and Bistro which has the most astonishing view (see below) with excellent food which you can enjoy outdoors or indoors depending on the weather and your preference.
Close to it's premises you can find the market halls which are a famous destination for any culinary adventurer. Offering a true and unique market feeling with shops serving traditional meals and specialities. It is a wonderful sight to explore and I would highly recommend it too.
